Wisconsin, regional economic development groups form productivity partnership

Milwaukee Business Journal – Three local business development groups have joined forces to work on boosting productivity in manufacturing statewide.

The Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. (WEDC), the Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership (WMEP) and the Milwaukee 7 (M7) are working together on the Transformational Productivity Initiative or TPI. Kelly Armstrong, WEDC’s project lead, said the collaborative effort will help manufacturers address any issues they’re always trying to improve.

“I think what is really interesting here is we’re taking this innovative approach that no one organization can do on its own,” Armstrong said. “From an economic development standpoint, we see this as a very proactive and innovative approach.”
